03
Terms of Participation

The principles governing the Experiment.

Nature of the Experiment

The Hope Experiment is a global participation project exploring what may happen when many people perform the same small voluntary act.

Participation is not an investment, financial product, savings product, lottery, ownership interest or promise of future financial benefit.

Voluntary contribution

Participation begins from €1. The selected amount is a voluntary contribution connected to participation in the Experiment.

The contribution does not provide shares, ownership, interest, dividends, financial returns, voting rights or other economic rights.

Use of contributions and operator compensation

Contributions may support the creation, operation, maintenance, communication and future development of The Hope Experiment.

Funds may be used for technology, hosting, payment processing, administration, professional services, reserves, communication and future initiatives.

After costs and project commitments, a portion may remain with the operator as compensation or income.

The Hope Experiment is not presented as a charity, and a participation is not a charitable donation unless a specific charitable initiative is expressly identified as such.

Founder Number

One sequential Founder Number is assigned only after a payment has been successfully confirmed.

Founder Numbers are intended to remain permanent and are not reassigned to another person.

A refund, chargeback, fraud investigation or technical correction may affect the status associated with a Founder Number without causing that number to be reused.

Public content

A participant may voluntarily provide a city and one word for public display.

Content that is unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, abusive, sexually explicit, misleading, infringing or otherwise unsuitable for a global public project may be rejected, hidden or removed.

Payments, withdrawal and refunds

Payments are processed securely by Stripe using the payment methods available for the participant’s device and location.

Any mandatory rights of withdrawal, cancellation or refund under applicable law remain unaffected.

Refunds are not otherwise offered once participation has been confirmed, the Founder Number assigned and the selected public information displayed, except in cases of duplicate payment, technical error, fraud or where required by law.

A refund does not automatically erase records that must be retained for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes.

Availability and changes

The Experiment may evolve, add or remove features, temporarily suspend parts of the service or correct technical errors.

Meaningful changes affecting existing Founders or the use of contributions will be explained through the Transparency page.
